Doctoral Training and Beyond
In addition to her doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Armstrong has extensive training and expertise in the field of Clinical Behavior Analysis. From this vantage point, Dr. Armstrong focuses primarily on an individual’s current functioning and life challenges, while integrating relevant aspects of the behavioral history. The treatment goal is always to help a client learn new skills that may be necessary to improve life circumstances and increase feelings of satisfaction and fulfillment.
Ongoing professional development is a regular part of Dr. Armstrong’s practice, accomplished by attending a variety of Continuing Education events each year and reviewing relevant books and articles. Attending workshops or giving presentations based on her clinical experiences provide regular opportunities for developing and deepening interests or expertise, particularly in the areas of eating disorders and mindfulness.
